As a former Catholic and I say former because I've left and am not going back, I find this display by a priest totally offensive.
Monsignor Lisante was giving the invocation at a New York State Republican Party dinner that was also host to Dick Cheney among others.
He obviously isn't taking the word invocation in the spiritual context that it was meant. How much of Father Lasante's personal message is ever preached from the pulpit? The quote below that comes straight from his web page certainly was not on display this night.
"Too often, I suspect, we think that because our point of view is sustainably right, we have the right to belittle and reduce people who don’t get it. And we don’t. Not by Jesus’ example, anyway. He would challenge, but always with respect for the other person. Rightness, He knew, doesn’t entitle us to cruelty." Monsignor Jim Lasante

Obama vs Clinton vs DNC vs DP of Michigan vs Disenfranchised Voters

Vladimir Kush print can be found at Paragon Fine Art
Is one's political ploy another's political strategy?
Should a candidate be tarred and feathered because they put together the team that could see the big picture when it came to the fight that was going to happen down the road between the Democratic National Party and the Democratic Party of Michigan over an early primary date and then a seating of delegates at the convention?
Shouldn't that candidate have a strategy in place to position him or herself into the best possible position to win the nomination in August? Is this scheming or some kind of illegal maneuvering by the candidate or just the feeling of sour grapes by the other party.
A political campaign is like a chess tournament and if you don't have the right players and a strategy, you lose.

Left Standing Alone
Hearings vs Legislation, Who's Right?
Senator Susan Collins R-Maine is running a re-election campaign against Democratic Congressman Tom Allen. Seems they have a big difference of opinion when it comes to holding hearings regarding contractor fraud or passing legislation to prevent it, after the fact. Could fraud, saving misspent tax money and troop injury or death be prevented sooner with hearings?

In Solidarity With Our Wounded And Killed Heroes Of the Iraq War And Their Families
"I remember when de Mello, who was at the U.N., got killed in Baghdad as a result of these murderers taking this good man's life," he said. "I was playing golf -- I think I was in central Texas -- and they pulled me off the golf course and I said, 'It's just not worth it anymore to do.'"

You'll Know When We Blow Through Your Town
Gather round my fellow ladies and look who's on the march. It's Kimberly Myers and Cynthia Ruccia heading up the Huffy, Pseudo Feminist, I Am Entitled Woman - Hear Me Roar, Blackmail/Boycott, Anti-Obama, Finger Wagging Bill Clinton - "seat all the delegates" - All Star Band.
In 1998, at a Republican fundraiser, McCain told this joke: "Why is Chelsea Clinton so ugly? Because her father is Janet Reno."
This is an example of just the humor of the man these women are going to vote for in November.

John McCain Not More Of The Same?
k.b.: Folks don't kid yourselves. McCain already has top "Bushies" working on his campaign. Such as the honorable Charles R. Black, Jr. who represented Ahmed Chalabi up until the invasion of Iraq.
Black's "ties with the Bush family go back to 1972, when he and Karl Rove were jockeying for control of the College Republicans in a campaign so dirty that George H.W. Bush, then head of the Republican National Committee, had to step in and sort matters out"., reported in The Raw Story
When You Don't Know Your History, Fool
k.b.: One good outcome, if you can call it good, when a President steps in a steaming pile of dog shit and says something historically inaccurate is to,if you're an adult, use that major blunder as a teaching moment. Obviously radio talk show host Kevin James did not and he got the Chris Matthew's Hardball Smackdown. Matthew's set the little weaselly kid up good.

Stephen And Billo Do It Live
Below is a comment made on Gawker's website which initially hosted the video of Bill O'Reilly's meltdown.
Hamud Ibn Hamud posted at 03:16 AM on 05/12/08:
What's odd is that his hair appears to be beamed in from another dimension.
As if it were more of an aura, or unearthly presence, than physical human hair.
This may be because Bill's hair is actually afraid of him. Afraid that Bill might tear it out by the roots.
Living with this constant fear of violence, Bill's hair has entered a perpetual fugue state. Seemingly present, but quite somewhere else indeed.

Leonard Simpson, a 67-year-old retired coalminer from Mingo County, West Va.:
“I heard that Obama is a Muslim and his wife’s an atheist,” said Mr Simpson, drawing on a cigarette outside the fire station in Williamson, a coalmining town of 3,400 people surrounded by lush wooded hillsides.
Josh Fry, a 24-year-old ambulance driver from Williamson, insisted he was not racist but said he would feel more comfortable with Mr McCain, the 71-year-old Vietnam war hero, in the White House. “I want someone who is a full-blooded American as president,” he said.
