Joshua Ginns, at ten years old, is dying from a rare and aggressive brain tumor.Brittany Spears and the coverage of her and other Hollywood brats comes to my mind when I read about the suffering of Joshua and the anguish of his parents in the failed attempts to save his life. Maybe when Brittany pulls the crap she does, with her two healthy children, someone should shove this brave story of Joshua and his Mum in front of her face.
I used to be frightened to death that some awful disease would strike one or both of my children. I spent years worrying myself, their father and them to the point of distraction and finally seeking, through hospitalization, the help I needed. I couldn't even have a story like this one in the house with me. If I came upon an article like Joshua's in a magazine, it went out of the house, in the trash. Now I can read a story like Joshua's with tears and sadness. Not just for him and his family but for what his brave story still doesn't teach those of us in America.
I thought that maybe the horror of September 11th was enough to change our country for the better. No persons should have the right to kill innocent Americans, ever. but our countrie's excesses are starting to matter when it comes to the global economy, the environment and how the world (not just Islamic kooks) sees us.
It's not just the Brittany's, the Lindsays and the Paris Hiltons out there. What about the millions of unknown children and adults that have to have every little thing they want. What makes us think about that. It's certainly not the "remember the starving children in Africa line". My mother used that on me and I'm fifty years old and they're still starving!
Share the wealth gets mentioned in the same tone as if you just said some dirty words like you mother fucker. I'll be long gone before morality comes around to make it's real awakening visit on this country.
If it feels like the right thing for you to do then please pray for Joshua Ginns and his family. Thousand of children like Joshua suffer from cancer. If you can help I would suggest going to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Lance Armstrong's Live Strong Foundation or the American Cancer Society's.web site.
