Former Australian Army officer David Kilcullen, who helped Gen. David Petraeus “design his 2007 counterinsurgency strategy in Iraq,” is currently an adviser to Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice. In a recent interview with Spencer Ackerman, Kilcullen, the main author of an upcoming handbook on counterinsurgency for senior policy-makers, said he tells them they should “think very, very carefully before intervening” in other countries. As an example, Kilcullen called the invasion of Iraq “f*cking stupid“:
More bluntly, Kilcullen, who helped Petraeus design his 2007 counterinsurgency strategy in Iraq, called the decision to invade Iraq “stupid” — in fact, he said “f*cking stupid” — and suggested that if policy-makers apply the manual’s lessons, similar wars can be avoided in the future.
“The biggest stupid idea,” Kilcullen said, “was to invade Iraq in the first place.” Think Progress
I have HAD it with these disrespectful responses from our elected officials.
You will receive an email stating this but want it out there in PUMAville NOW:
I want a copy of EVERY SINGLE response we have received from delegates, superdelegates, and any other person we have contacted and received a response from - even the “I can’t reply because you are not in my state” bahloney. Don’t care if they’re nice or mean. This needs publicity - PERIOD. These people have NO basis on which to speak to us in the manner they have. I want dates, times, and which PROWL they are responding to.
If you look closely, you'll see a ruddy shadow right in the middle of the water curtain. That spot is a swimmer. And yes...he was nailed by the wave. Poor guy. The crowd on the beach went "Uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh" when the wave hit him in the face. Endless seconds after that, he managed to get out of the water, straightening his shorts, trying to get rid of the huge amount of sand that certainly filled up his ass like a camel butt on the desert, attempting to catch his breath and pretending to all the people on the beach that nothing happened.
Murphy, Great show! To me one of the more telling comments concerned *61’s decision to move his speech to Mile High Stadium without consulting the party. Firebelle Puma has been writing about his wasteful ways and how economically he would be a disaster for our country. When you put into context his campaign, the questionable bundler donations, his political track record in Illinois, and now the Mid-East & European tour, he is a train wreck waiting to happen. I can’t say this enough, *61 does not represent the best interests of this country or its citizens. Ask yourselves, how does anyone function under a boss, family member, or friend that is pompous or arrogant? These are not the characteristics that I want in our next President. This movement has so many levels to it, and I’m glad that we are fighting back and taking a stand.
The Honorable - and that's highly questionable - James Manning reads a few of the emails he receives at his Temple Hour Of Prayer. Now Mr. Hung Low is clearly rude as is Pastor Manning's response but Mr. Eugene Simpson of Rowan University takes on Pastor Manning for his ignorance and crassness towards Michelle Obama who Manning calls ugly and with a big behind. Pastor Manning has what my mother would say, "a screw loose."
Two dozen Hillary Clinton supporters showed up to greet Howard Dean and his traveling Register For Change bus tour in Charlotte North Carolina. Representing Charlotte Front And Center they tried to shout down Dean with chants of PUMA and demands that Clinton be placed on the ballot at the Democratic Convention in August.
Dean later responded on his bus, "I'm not sure all of them are Clinton supporters," he said. "I think some of them are having fun at the Democrats' expense. I think shouting through somebody's speech is low-class."
"After spending the last 24 hrs with Bandit and watching him decline hour by hour, I have decided that I must make this God awful decision today. I had planned to take him this a.m., but he has always been so scared in thunderstorms that I am not taking him until this storm has passed. I do not want him to be scared....I'm scared enough for both of us. We snuggled all day yesterday and last nite, we both fell asleep with me scritching his tummy. Please light a candle to help light my beautiful boy's way to the Bridge."
With love and puppy kisses from Katie and Spike
Somewhere over the rainbow Way up high And the dreams that you dream of Once in a lullaby Oh, somewhere over the rainbow, bluebirds fly And the dreams that you dream of Dreams really do come true
Someday I wish upon a star Wake up where the clouds are far behind me Where trouble melts like lemon drops High above the chimney tops it's where you'll find me, oh Somewhere over the rainbow, bluebirds fly And the dream that you dare to, for why, oh why can't I? I........
Well I see trees of green and red roses too, I'll watch them bloom for me and you And I think to myself What a wonderful world
Well I see skies of blue and I see clouds of white And the brightness of day I like the dark and I think to myself What a wonderful world
The colors of the rainbow so pretty in the sky Are also on the faces of people passing by I see friends shaking hands Singing, "How do you do?" They're really saying, I...I love you I hear babies cry and I watch them grow, They'll learn much more Than we'll know And I think to myself What a wonderful world, world....
Someday I'll wish upon a star, Wake up where the clouds are far behind me Where trouble melts like lemon drops High above the chimney top that's where, you'll find me Oh, somewhere over the rainbow way up high And the dream that you dare to, why, oh why can't I? I........

PUMA PAC ladies are getting their bloomers in a bunch over Barack Obama's speech in Germany. They are demanding to their legislators or anyone who will hear them that he is in violation of some obscure law called The Logan Act. The Logan Act is a United States federal law that forbids unauthorized citizens from negotiating with foreign governments. It was passed in 1799 and last amended in 1994. Violation of the Logan Act is a felony, punishable under federal law with imprisonment of up to three years. I wasn't aware that speaking with foreign dignitaries and making speeches was negotiating. These women are loons. The Logan Act @ Wikipedia
writer4starz on 07.24.08 at 11:17 am "Even if Hillary should publicly – in person – denounce all 527s who are trying to get her nominated and elected, we can’t give throw in the towel. Clearly, the Chicago political mafia is strong-arming her to disown us. These people will stop at nothing to get Obama elected; hence, all the threats we, ourselves, have been getting lately. I say that this should make us stronger. Because such a speech coming from her would mean that even HER right to free speech was being taken away. Go back and watch her video, when she suspended her campaign, and she thanked us from the bottom of her heart. This lady loves her supporters. She is sincere in that. And if words come out of her mouth that say otherwise, you have to know that she is being strong-armed to say them. What a shame. The Democratic Party that I love is no more. One positive note: Bill doesn’t seem to be giving Barack much support, if any. The thugs have not strong-armed him. Not yet. Be brave, PUMAs."

This video is about a woman named Lis' Kristof who had fought cancer for 8 years and was given 3 weeks to live on this earth. She left the hospital to run her dog Diva just one more time. Against impossible odds, not only did she stay on her feet for the whole run, but also she got the last qualification necessary to win Diva's Agility Dog Championship title! On the evening of May 6,2008, Lis' Kristof left this "wonderful earth". Surrounded by her mother, dearest friends, and beloved Chinese Cresteds.
Mary Beth613 Well, have been sending emails to S.D. regarding the information about BO interfearing with talking as if he is the POTUS in Iraq and Afghanistan. I’m sooooooooooo tired of this egomaniac!! I don’t feel like being nice anymore.. We have to be big..loud..and to the point..no more hearts and flowers.. I don’t want BO to be anything ,because I don’t believe he’s the right person to be leading this country!! Simple! Wake up Congress!! Wake up Super Delegates!! and wake up America!! This man is a sham..and speaks out of both sides of his mouth at the same time!! Throw him out!! And give us back Hillary!!
prowlland I want BLOOD……if he is using that plane with tax payers money…..and has his addy on it….I say we sue him. MountainSong Isn’t ‘barack’ that noise people make when they puke? DancesWithPumas Unfortunately, even if Obama was a bonafide nominee, as his campaign continues, it is apparent that he doesn’t stand for anything, he contradicts himself at every turn, blames others for criticisms directed at him, is disloyal to his allies, doesn’t have any firm policies or basic moral foundation. The boy’s endgame is to sit in the Oval office, nothing more. Power and greed and for the sake of power and greed.
The people with whom he allies himself as friends, business partners, political and spiritual counselors, do not reflect positively upon him. Stances and attitudes trickle down, his general population of thugs, goons, frat boys with serious mother issues, media with serious oedipal issues, misogynist, vile supporters are yet another poor reflection of their candidate. notfollowinthepiedpiper DancesWithPumas, I agree w/ you. The powers-that-be wanted an empty suit they could use for a puppet, he wants nothing more than the ultimate ego trip, so they made a good match. Unfortunately it will be the undoing of this country if they succeed.
Just about everyone ganged up on poor Hillary Clinton. Looks to me like she can dish it out about as much as she can take it. Too bad her supporters can't. They can't take her loss and are looking to any excuse to justify their bad behavior, something that's no more than a toddlers temper tantrum.

We are lawyers in the United States of America. As such, we have all taken an oath obligating us to defend the Constitution and the rule of law…. We believe the Bush administration has committed numerous offenses against the Constitution and may have violated federal laws…. Moreover, the administration has blatantly defied congressional subpoenas, obstructing constitutional oversight …. Thus, we call on House Judiciary Chairman John Conyers and Senate Judiciary Chairman Patrick Leahy to launch hearings into the possibility that crimes have been committed by this administration in violation of the Constitution…. We call for the investigations to go where they must, including into the offices of the President and the Vice President. -- American Lawyers Defending the Constitution
Over one thousand lawyers – including former Governor Mario Cuomo and former Reagan administration official Bruce Fein – have signed onto the above statement demanding wide-ranging investigative hearings into unconstitutional and potentially criminal activity by the Bush administration.
Nobody ever said it better than did Aaron Sorkin in his script for the movie “The American President”:
“Whatever your particular problem is, friend, I promise you, Bob Rumson (and for Bob Rumson, read “John McCain”) is not the least bit interested in solving it. He is interested in two things and two things only: Making you afraid of it, and telling you who’s to blame for it.”
My husband loves the writing of Aaron Sorkin. The American President, Sports Night, The West Wing and Studio 60 On The Sunset Strip are all on his list of DVD favorites to watch over and over.
